How To Write A New Year Email
The new year is the time for good resolutions, which will last more or less long depending on each person's motivation, but it's also the time for the customary exchange of wishes after a month of excess like December.
If you're struggling to come up with the right New Year's greetings, New Year email subject lines, how to start an email for the New Year, or New Year email ideas and examples check out the traditional examples below that are meant for coworkers or friends.
How Should I Write My New Year's Email?
You traditionally wish your loved ones success, happiness, and health, whether you do it verbally or in writing, but there's nothing stopping you from being more original. Simple, sincere words are sufficient, but you can also write something unique, professional, personal, or use a humorous tone, for instance, depending on the recipient.
The holiday season is a memorable time for friends, family, coworkers, clients, and other loved ones. Additionally, now is the time to express your concern for them. The following advice will help you create the ideal New Year's email:
- Select the template first. Consider your style and personality when choosing from the various types available.
- Send a personalized email. A few thoughtful words can go a long way in demonstrating your concern for your recipient.
- Please sign your name and the name of your business.
- Don't forget to add a personalized message if you're sending an e-card; it will make it even more special.
When should you send your New Year's greetings?
Happy holidays emails are best when they occur in the second half of December.
However, if you send New Year's greetings, keep in mind that some of your clients may be superstitious. In this case, sending a letter before January 1st is a mistake because it will make them feel uncomfortable and you won't reach your target.

Tips for Creating the Perfect New Year's Greetings Emails
Stay professional in the emails that you send to your clients.
Avoid using humor in business communications because it can come off as awkward, especially in a short text. Currently, you are unaware of your recipient's mental state. If you take the risk, you must be very certain.
Now is the time to reveal what's underneath the engine if you're a web editor. Avoid being overly planned because others already are! Use your skills to enhance your message by adding personality, creativity, and a sense of humor.
There is no guidance available; it is up to you based on what you want to send back. But don't forget that you need to demonstrate your editorial and professional abilities!
The end-of-year messages are excellent practice for honing your analytical abilities, formulaic sense, and word choice abilities! Also keep in mind that you don't need SEO optimization in the least!
In your professional greetings, be sincere.
Your end-of-year message must be sincere in order to be effective; otherwise, it will come across as fake.
If your client takes 15 days to respond to each email and 3 months to pay you, there's no need to thank him for being responsive. He is very aware of this in his subconscious.
Therefore, you must first ask the right questions of yourself before adjusting to wish for the best.
Prepare your end-of-year emails in advance to write them well.
Before sending your holiday greetings, you should consider these three relationship-related questions:
- What point are you trying to make?
- How old is your partnership?
- How closely do you work with your clients?
If you have any quote ideas, you can use them as hooks at the start of the text. Here are some business-appropriate examples to go along with a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year card:
Quote with a goal: “Dare to dream. Dare to try. Dare to be wrong. Dare to be successful. Go ahead. I challenge you! (Kingsley Ward)
Quotes from philosophers: “As for the future, it is not a question of foreseeing it but of making it possible.“ (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
Poetic and philosophical quote: “You should not try to add years to your life but rather try to add life to your years. (John Fitzgerald Kennedy).
Adapt your wishes' message to the recipient.
Take the chance to thank your client via email or card using the following template if you want to keep up an already successful collaboration:
“I appreciate your trust and am happy with or proud of the work we did for "X." I wish you all the best in 2023 and hope that the coming year will be equally fruitful and productive for you. In this mindset that makes our collaboration so valuable, I also hope that it will strengthen our ties.”
Here is an example of how to remind your client and revive a dying collaboration:
"I send you my best wishes for a prosperous 2023 and pray that your projects will be successful in the new year. I also hope that we will have the chance to continue working together in the same spirit that has made our exchanges so beneficial. I especially valued our collaborative efforts.”
This model might be appropriate for the situation if you have grown close to your customer and have exchanged some private information:
"I sincerely appreciate your trust in me, and I always feel very proud of the work. I send you and your family (or your son, daughter, children, wife, husband, or mother-in-law...) my very best wishes for 2023. I wish you a fruitful and productive new year in both your professional and personal lives. I also hope that it will allow us to keep working together in the same frame of mind that makes our work so successful and our conversations so valuable.”
Ignore the collective greetings!
Nothing prevents you from combining some of the aforementioned ideas to make your text more unique! To avoid arriving like a hair in the soup, it is important to respond to the questions first. You'll observe that it is then impossible to write grouped messages because they come off as impersonal and uninteresting right away.
For some clients, we personally like to add a touch of poetry by using vibrant words that sparkle and enliven and can only be written once.
I enjoy tailoring my actions to suit their preferences. If a client mentioned that he enjoyed reading, I offered him my best wishes for a wonderful reading year filled with memorable characters and surprising authors. I wish him much success and a rise to the top of the rankings if he plays tennis and competes. Finally, if we talked about the family, I usually bring it up. Otherwise, before your recipient gets to the goal, your message will be lost.
There is always a chance to wish the client luck with their plans, no matter what they may be. There are plenty of ideas.
Even though they are overused, wishes for success, happiness, and good health can still have a place.
In conclusion, the end of the year is a time that I really enjoy because I am free to share and spread positive energy. Since I no longer work with clients I dislike, being sincere and being complimentary are both acceptable. Even though modesty occasionally gets in the way, it is wrong to deny ourselves of it because, unlike regrets, time passes very quickly. Messages for the New Year, so don't pass up this chance!
When sending greetings to your customers, be specific.
A customer who receives a spam message won't be too bothered by it; he will move on right away, and your wishes will get lost in the hundreds of other texts that were sent in January.
Additionally, if you do not include any individualized information, he will realize that you are sending the same message to everyone and that the message he receives from you is therefore of little value. He will not be duped.
A close professional relationship should be promoted and maintained as part of your New Year's greetings, not just as a shiny brush.
Therefore, try to list the values of your client on a piece of paper. Find out why you enjoy working with the company or client you work for and highlight those qualities.
- Maybe he is efficient and practical even if he is not very friendly?
- If he is not reactive, could it be that he is calm and sympathetic instead?
This is how you can speak to your client in a way that embodies, touches, and moves him.
