Finish your account setup in four steps
The first screen a new Mailsoftly account opens on: a four-step tracker to your first campaign, a quiet Account basics row, and the dashboard that arrives once you have sent.
A new Mailsoftly account does not open on a dashboard. It opens on one job: getting your first campaign out. Until that has happened, the whole page is a four-step tracker, a short row of account basics, and a greyed preview of the reports that arrive later. There is nothing to arrange and nothing to hide, which is the point.
This guide walks that screen. You will read the tracker and know where each step lands you, finish the three account basics from their own small windows, and understand the rule that retires the whole view.
Read the focus view
Sign in and the page opens with your greeting and a one-line subtitle that changes as you go: an invitation to get your first campaign out the door at the start, a note that you are making progress and how many steps are left in the middle, and almost there, one step left at the end.
Under it sit three things, in this order:
- The four-step tracker, headed "4 steps to your first campaign, we do the heavy lifting"
- A quiet Account basics row
- A greyed, non-interactive preview of the dashboard you will get later, captioned with a line about your campaign stats and reports appearing here after your first send
The card grid, the Customize button and the Quick actions card are all absent on purpose. They belong to the dashboard that arrives after your first real send.
The tracker shows for admins on new accounts. A teammate who joins the workspace goes straight to the normal dashboard, because the setup steps are not theirs to do.

Work the four steps
The tracker’s heading is followed by a segmented meter, one bar per step, and a counter reading how many of the four are done. Every card is clickable across its whole surface, not just the link text.
- Send your first test email. See it land in your own inbox, sent from your Google or Microsoft address. The button reads Send test email, and once it is done the card offers Send another test instead. If you have used up today’s test allowance the card says so rather than offering a button that would fail: more test sends reset tomorrow.
- Build your brand kit. Give us your website and we pull your logo and colours automatically. Done, the link changes to See my brand kit.
- Build your launch kit. We create your first emails, forms and landing pages for you. Done, it becomes Open my launch kit.
- Send your first campaign. Before your contacts are in, this reads Bring your contacts over, then reach your real audience, and the button takes you to the import wizard. Once they are in, it changes to Your audience is in. Pick a design and reach them for real, and the button opens the campaign picker.
A completed step shows Done in place of its subtitle, and its bar in the meter fills in. The steps are independent, so finishing them out of order simply ticks them off out of order.
The chevron on the right of the heading collapses the whole bar in place, with no page reload, if you want the screen quiet for a while. It stays collapsed for the rest of the session and comes back next time you sign in.
Do them in order the first time. The brand kit feeds the launch kit, so building the kit first means the emails it generates already look like you.

Finish the account basics
Under the tracker, a short row headed Account basics holds three small jobs. Each one is a link that opens a window over the page rather than sending you into the settings menu, and each shows a filled check once it is complete.
- Complete your business profile opens the business-profile wizard: four steps asking who you will be using Mailsoftly for, what your industry is, what your main goal is, and a last step on staying connected. A counter in the header tracks where you are and the four segments along the bottom fill as you go.
- Connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 opens the connect window, with both providers offered where both are available to you.
- Verify phone number opens the verification window, which preselects your country and takes a code by text.
None of the three blocks the tracker. They are the details that make your emails look finished and your account easier to recover, which is why they sit below the four steps rather than in front of them.
The business profile no longer asks for your business address here. It is collected later, before your first real campaign goes out, so it cannot hold up the wizard.

Watch the tracker retire
The whole focus view has one exit: your first real campaign send being approved. Not a test send, not a finished checklist, an actual campaign to real recipients.
When that happens the tracker disappears, the greyed preview is replaced by the real thing, and the dashboard you have been looking at a sketch of arrives complete: the card grid, Quick actions, and the Customize button in the header.
From there, Customize your dashboard and Use quick actions are the two guides worth reading next, and Get started with Mailsoftly is the wider tour of the product now that the setup is behind you.

Frequently asked questions
Can I skip any of the four setup steps in Mailsoftly?
You can complete the four setup steps in any order, and each step is independent. Finishing them out of order simply ticks them off as you go, so you are not required to follow a specific sequence.
How do I know when my Mailsoftly account setup is finished?
Your Mailsoftly account setup is finished when you send your first real campaign to actual recipients. At that point, the setup tracker disappears and the full dashboard with additional features becomes available.
Does a teammate see the same setup steps when joining my Mailsoftly workspace?
A teammate who joins your Mailsoftly workspace does not see the setup steps. They go straight to the normal dashboard because the setup process is only required for admins on new accounts.
