Write emails faster with AI

Use the built-in writing help in Mailsoftly to get subject line ideas and generate a first draft you can edit, so you can write and send emails faster.

When a blank subject line or empty email slows you down, the built-in writing help gives you a starting point you can shape. This guide shows how to get subject line ideas and a first draft you then edit into your own voice.

You will ask for subject line ideas, choose one to refine, then generate a first draft and edit it before you send. Each step shows the screen you will use.

Get subject line ideas

On the draft screen, find the Subject row and press the wand button labelled Suggest subject lines. A Subject suggestions panel opens with a short list of options, each tagged with the angle it takes, such as benefit, curiosity, or personalised, so you can compare different approaches at a glance. A small counter shows how many suggestions you have left for the day.

Use these to break a blank page, not to replace your own judgement. Reading a few options often sparks a better line than staring at an empty field.

Pick one and make it yours

Click the suggestion closest to your message to drop it straight into the Subject field, then edit it so it sounds like you and fits the email. As you type, a hint reminds you that subjects under 60 characters show fully in most inboxes.

The idea is a first pass, and your words make it land. A short, specific subject line you have refined tends to earn more opens.

Generate a first draft

Stuck on the body too? Open Generate with AI. It asks "What is this email about?" and gives you ready-made prompt starters, or you can type your own brief describing what the email should cover. Choose a Type, such as Newsletter, Announcement, Promotion, or Welcome, or leave it to decide, then press Generate design to build a starting version you can work from.

Designs use your brand colours and logo, and pictures come from your Image Library and Brand Kit, so add images there first if you want them to appear.

Careful

Generating a design replaces what is on the canvas. If you have already built something you want to keep, save it first, because the confirmation warns that the new design will replace the current one.

Edit the draft into your voice

Read the draft end to end and rewrite anything that does not sound like you. Trim, add your details, swap in your own images, and check every fact and link before it goes anywhere near a subscriber.

Note

Suggestions and drafts are a starting point, never a final email. Always review and edit before you send so the message is accurate and truly yours.

With a subject line and a draft to build on, the hardest part of writing is behind you.
