What is an SMTP server?

The device that manages the delivery of electronic mail is known as an SMTP server. With the SMTP protocol, it functions perfectly (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). To put it simply, the SMTP server (or outgoing post server) manages each email sent from a mail-sending web client or program and forwards it to the recipient's incoming server (kind of as a factor).

How to find your personal SMTP server?

You will find the correct address for your email account in the settings of your email program:

  • In Outlook , click "  Account Settings  " in the file menu, select your account, then click "  Edit." This opens a window with an overview of user, server and credential information.
  • In Mozilla Thunderbird, right-click your account to open the context menu and click "  Settings  ". In the “ Outgoing mail server (SMTP )” menu  , select your mail server and click on “  Edit  ”
  • Mail (Mac desktop)
    - On your Mac, click Mail, then choose Preferences from the drop-down menu.
    - Choose the account you wish to link to Mailsoftly from the left sidebar.
    - Account Information should be selected.
    - The Incoming Server field should be visible. Your IMAP server's name can be found in this data. The Outgoing mail server column should then be found. To view the SMTP server name, you might have to click the drop-down option and choose Edit SMTP Server List. Additionally, the SMTP port is shown.
