This free email spam score tester checks your subject line and message content against the same rules spam filters use, then returns a spam score so you can fix problems before you send. Most filters, including SpamAssassin, add points for each risky element and flag a message once the total passes a threshold, commonly a score of 5 or higher. Common triggers include all-caps subject lines, spam trigger words, a poor balance of text and images, too many links, and missing SPF, DKIM, or DMARC authentication. A lower score means a better chance of landing in the inbox instead of the spam folder.
Aim for a spam score below 5. Tools based on SpamAssassin add points for each risk they find, and most inbox providers treat a total of 5 or more as likely spam. To lower your score, write a clear subject line without all caps, cut spam trigger words, keep a healthy balance of text and images, limit the number of links, and make sure your domain passes SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
